The NQC has been a cherished tradition since its inception in 1957 by the legendary J.D. Sumner, famous for his deep bass voice and connection to Elvis Presley. Together with James Blackwood, Sumner created a platform to honor and showcase the best of Southern Gospel Music. After decades of evolution, the convention is now lovingly hosted at the state-of-the-art LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, where gospel enthusiasts from across the nation and several foreign countries gather to celebrate their passion.
